One Year+One Month

I didn't think I would continue with these monthly updates on Nixon after he turned a year, but he keeps learning and doing new things that I can't help but post about it! I know I will enjoy looking back on them, as I have already enjoyed looking back at other posts.
Our outings to the park are quickly coming to an end:(. The days of 100 degree weather have approached us and unless we go first thing in the morning we won't go at all. Nixon gets so excited when we get to the park. It's usually a win-win situation for the both of us as I get my workout(running or riding my bike to the park) and Nixon gets to play.
We have officially made the transition to a big boy car seat! He loves it and loves being able to look out the window! I do however miss the days of the infant car seats. It was always so easy to carry it around and keep him asleep in it.
We are working on the whole "spoon" thing. I don't know how I feel about it. I know it's a good thing for him to learn, but man, it's 100 times messier. He is getting better at it though. Most the time he just uses his hands anyways, much quicker!
No more formula for this kid anymore either! Woo Hoo! It was actually an easy transition for him which I am greatful for. He is drinking Soy milk because he has Eczema and I have noticed dairy makes it WAY worse.
Also Bottle free!-not hard to break this one either!
He has figured how to straddle and ride his car and train.
Blows kisses
Finally claps! My own fault I'm sure that it took so long because I have been trying to get him to do it since he was like 6 months. Now he loves being praised and clapping.
Loves the Vacuum. He gets so excited when I pull it and and chases after it the whole time.
Pretty much RUNS now. He is so fast.
He usually takes one nap a day now(an adjustment I'm working on for myself), but it's because he has been sleeping from about 8pm-9am.
Learned how to turn around to climb down from things like steps, the couch, stairs, etc.
Loves his cars-great for church time!
Has a growing collection of vans for every age.
