It happened. I'm officially a soccer mom. Thursday nights you can find me juggling a baby, a soccer ball and corn dogs for dinner. I was so excited to sign Nixon up for his first year of sports. As a spectator, you'd never know that he really enjoyed the sport, so don't let that fool you. Off the field he's a ball beast with his dad and uncles, on the field he turns into the shy, timid boy that comes out around large crowds and unfamiliar faces. There are three games left and he is finally warmed up to the idea of running around, kicking the ball once or twice and turning to give us a thumbs up. It's a work in progress.
Game two the coach called in sick so the Tyler's were called in to sub. This was Nixon's best game. I could tell he liked having a familiar face on the field with him. He had a blast and I had a blast watching Tyler coach three and four year olds. I'm trying to convince him to be a coach next year.
