Christmas time is so magical. The magic seems to grow stronger each year as the kids grow older and more come along. Any chance of festiveness I could get, I'd take it. Instagram photos were constantly having splashes of red and green, and this obviously had to be our pre Christmas Sunday attire:
Christmas Eve started off with a friends birthday party. They even had the jolly guy himself join the party. Good thing too, we hadn't made it to any malls to let him know what the boys wanted for Chrismtas. We are counting on them having a birthday party with Santa every year from now on so we can ditch the mall madness all together.
With my parents moving to Texas, this was the first year of our married life that we had Christmas Eve at Tyler's family's house. The boys played games outside, we had dinner, talked about past Christmas memories, read the Nativity, sang Christmas songs and brought one of my favorite Christmas Eve traditions from my family to Tyler's: Mr. and Mrs. Wright. Once the party was winding down, we took the boys home for bed and began wrapping the presents. I kind of love waiting to wrap all the presents till Christmas Eve. Except for when poor Tyler is freakishly sick and goes straight to bed after hurling his guts out.
The next morning we heard the boys wake up and chatting in their rooms. I couldn't wait to go in there and tell them Santa came.
Nixon couldn't wait to start unwrapping and expected every gift under the tree to be for him.
And Levi was just pleased with it all.
Santa came through and brought Nixon his BIG firetruck. phew!
After opening presents, we headed out to make the Christmas rounds to see family.
It was the merriest Christmas indeed and the boys had some severe Christmas withdrawals the following days.
