So this last weekend we packed up the camping gear and headed up to Payson with some of Tyler's cousins for a little camping trip. I love getting out of town and spending time with family in cooler weather. Cooler weather, however, is an understatement for the one night we camped. Let me rewind for a moment. We don't have any sleeping bags and have always taken our air mattress with several blankets and have been just fine. The temp said the low was supposed to be in the mid 50's....well, it lied...it was in the low 30's! So that night I wrapped Nixon up in our warmest blankets and he was all sorts of cozy and warm. Tyler and I were left with 3 tiny throw blankets and let's just say we got about an hours worth of sleep that night. It was the worst night of my life. We miraculously had cell service and Tyler was on it at 3:00am ordering us the best sleeping bag out there, swearing that this would never happen again! Besides the rough nights sleep, the rest of the camping was great. Nixon loved being outside and roaming around, watching the fire and getting dirty. It's so nice to be able to sit around a camp fire and just chat. Unfortunately we only had our Iphone cameras so we didn't snap too many pictures.
Tyler's cousins is an emergency helicopter pilot in Payson and the boys HAD to go check out his ride!
After packing up the camp site, we went and hiked to fossil creek.
The water was sbsolutley beautiful and clear, and once getting used to the fridgedness, it was fun to play in with Nixon. Nixon loved being in the water and didn't care one bit about the temp.Every time we would pass a pool of water he would get so excited and want us to take him to it.
We borrowed this awesome backpack from my sister and Nixon did so good just chilling in it.

He was even able to get a little cat nap in after all the fun swimming!

(Thanks Brad and Lisa for the following pictures!)
