Easter Weekend

Easter this year was a lot of fun! Nixon LOVES candy and I'm pretty sure he consumed enough candy this weekend to last him the rest of his life! I was so excited to give Nixon his Easter basket that we did it on Saturday morning. I actually prefer doing all the "Easter egg" stuff the day before so this way Easter Sunday is all about Christ, Church and Family time. So Saturday morning we lined up some jelly beans starting at the bedroom door, leading down the hallway to Nixon's Easter basket. He pretty much thought it was the coolest thing to see candy all over the floor when he opened the door in the morning...and the fact that he got to eat it too?..BONUS! One by one he followed that trail, shoveling jelly beans in his mouth and tightly clenching what he couldn't fit in his hand.

 The trail led him to his basket and he was pretty pleased to see a "bucket" full of goodies! planes, trains and candy...seriously heaven for this kid.

After the hunt for his basket we headed off to our ward party for breakfast, an easter egg hunt and games. We got a little distracted with some awesome helicopters that were landing in the field right next to us that we missed the easter egg hunt. Needless to say we never got around to doing another one so Nixon missed out on it this year. My poor deprived child. Later that night we did get around to decorating some Easter eggs.

 There is the sweetest old man in our ward who adores Nixon and will often sit in the same pew as us on Sundays. Bless his heart for putting up with our obnoxiousness. He brought Nixon a little gift to church yesterday and he sure has enjoyed toting this big chicken around! 

  After church we headed to Tyler's parents house to celebrate Easter and His brother, Terryl's, birthday. Can't go over there without jumping around on the trampoline for a while.
