Our family has the best getaway spot: The Shumway Ranch. Just three hours away, 20 degrees cooler and endless activities to do there...it's one of my favorite places to go. With it being big enough to comfortable sleep my entire family, we all loaded up the kids to spend memorial weekend there. I remember going to the ranch ALL the time as a child, and it is so fun to now be taking my own child there and see him having a blast doing the same things I used to.
Since the whole property is gated, the younger boys pretty much lived outside and were constantly dirty. It was the best. When we get to the ranch it's funny how the husbands become like little boys again and can't wait to go fishing, frog hunting, pulling tree limbs down, riding the quad, playing pingpong and throwing rocks in the creek.
Nixon and Dax watching the older men pull down a humongous branch from a tree that they swear was going to break soon on it's own..but I think they just wanted to do something destructive.
The younger boys couldn't wait to go on rides on the jeep, quad and ranger.
Constantly playing and crawling all over the ranger.
Some of the many rides on the quad:
Swinging with dad
Sitting around the fire.
After church on Sunday we took some fun pictures down by the train car.
And throwing rocks in the creek.
We love the ranch and are always looking forward to the next time we get to go back!
Sounds like so much fun! as always, love your blog!
