2 1/2 Year Old Man.

Let me just start off by saying this is my THIRD time I have retyped this beast because for some reason it keeps deleting! So Nixon, even though the two's can be terrible, I still want to remember all of it. But if this fails again, we will hear about you when you are three.
I seriously feel so behind. I don't take as many pictures as I should be, but everyone is happy and gets an Instagram shout out every now and then. That is usually my only motivation to take pictures these days. So clearly, if you follow my IG, majority of these will be duplicates for you. But seriously, let's talk about how this kid here is 2 1/2 going on 12. He's too smart for his own good, has selective hearing and won't stay off my phone. We got the new iPhone 5's and I was able to convince him for about 5 minutes that he couldn't play with mommy's new phone.
Nixon clearly is taking after the Farnsworth side(No offense Nielson blood) with his long and lean self. The dude is a bird when it comes to eating and won't stay seated to eat unless I strap him down in a seat. He quite often wines "noooo, I don't want the buckle!" Well today he thought it would be best to sit in the bumbo, clearly there is much more freedom there.
There are certain things Nixon loves to rock. Like his sunglasses for example. The second we get in the car and the sun gets his face I hear a loud "MOOOM, I need sunglasses, it's too hott!" He likes to fill up his backpack with snacks or toys and ask to go places like to see Dallin or Carter and Blake. Shorts are always a must. Running around in just his undies don't happen too often anymore, which is a serious shame, because he insists on shorts too. Sandals are his pick of shoes and its a good thing we live in the state where you can rock them 95% of the year.
Can we all agree that there is nothing cuter than a boy in church clothes?! I just love when he is ready and in a tie. He loves church and is almost always so well behaved. It took a while to get to this point but I'm glad we stuck to our guns because it sure is paying off now. He also knows the older woman in the ward to find to sneak smarties candies from. Nursery is his favorite. He loves his friends and teachers and always tells me he played with toys and sang songs when I pick him up. The other day we went to the park with some friends in the ward and he was so excited to have "nursery at the park!"

Trains are still the love of his life. Some days when we are just sitting around at home I'll ask him what he wants to do today, he quickly rattles off "I go see GrammaPapaAdamDallinTrain!" Tyler's parents have a train track the goes by right behind their backyard and he expects it to go by no less than twice while we are visiting each time. Thursdays morning we go to the library for Toddler Story Time and as we came out we were lucky enough to see a train up close and personal go by and he couldn't get rid of that cute, happy grin on his face.

But seriously, I mustache you a question? Anything goes when flying solo with the boys in church right?
Nixon is a polite kid, says his pleases and thank you's, quickly says sorry if he accidentally hurts you...unless he meant to do it, then he's usually not sorry. I finally got him to say "excuse me" instead of "move it". Is always concerned if I or Levi are hurt and asks if we are okay.
Some of my favorite sayings: "What the heck!", "Oh my gosh thats so awesome!" "LEEEEBIIII!"
I'd say he is about 90% potty trained. He quite often will pee the tiniest bit in his underwear and then run to the bathroom to finish it off. Peeing outside in the grass is his favorite. He has no fear of whipping his pants down to pee in public either...gotta keep that one under control!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is his favorite book and is always his choice to read before bedtime. He almost has it all memorized and will read along with me.
He loves his little brother. Anytime we head Levi wake up on the monitor he is always so quick to tell me and say "Hurry mom, Levi's awake! Let's go get him!" and insists on being the first to pop his head over Levi's bed to say hi to him.
