We're Mean Parents

We have the best Cottonwood tree in our backyard. If we were to live here for several more years to come (which won't happen), I could see our kids climbing this tree, breaking a leg from falling out of it, building a tree house and swinging on a swing from it. The one downside from this tree: it sheds leaves like crazy! Anytime Nixon and I are out playing in the grass, all he wants to do is go for the leaves, squish them in his hands and try to eat them. So Tyler and I noticed this plethora of leaves and thought we would make a huge pile and let Nixon go wild in. That's how cool we are.

So we did just that. Made a huge pile of leaves for Nixon to play in.

The only thing was, Nixon hated it. Was totally terrified. WHAT?

So, like the mean parents we are, we kept torturing him for our own picture taking pleasure.

He'll always forgive his momma though!

A few nights before I decided we should have a family date night and go on a picnic. I loaded up the picnic basket with all sorts of goodies and Tyler made sure to bring some bouncy balls for Nixon to roll around. It was a fun family outing!

  1. Haha, I do stuff like this to Brayden all the time!
Seems perfectly reasonable that he would have loved that pile of leaves! I would have thought the same thing :)
